TuD2.1 - DYNAMIC LC/POLYMER OPTICAL SYSTEMS
Abstract
Abstract
We explore responsive thin films of polymer/liquid crystal mixtures which exhibit dynamic coloration properties. Various stimuli to induced changes in coloration have been explored including electric and light irradiation. These films are coupled with nanoparticles and unique light-light dynamic properties are presented.

Abstract
Abstract
We report electrically induced bi-stable color changes in cholesteric liquid crystals using the angular sensitivity of structural color. This switching behavior is achieved by tilting the angle of incidence from normal, so that the electric field induced helical orientation switching results in structural color changes.
