Abstract

Abstract

We introduce hydrofluorocarbon molecules as a valuable alternative to conventional noble gases to compress microjoule ultrashort pulses. We demonstrate efficient compression down to 9.2 fs for a 45 fs, 800 nm, 16 µJ initial pulse.
