Abstract

Abstract

A 6-mode exchanger composed of cascaded long-period-grating waveguide is proposed for mode-division-multiplexing system. Theoretical design shows low-loss and highly efficient mode exchanging operation is possible. Total mode dependent loss of the system is reduced for multiple exchanging operations in few-mode-fiber transmission.
