ThA1.3 - MICROLED WAVEGUIDE FOR FLUORESCENCE APPLICATIONS

Abstract

Abstract

A microLED-coupled multimode slab waveguide is reported for fluorescence sensing. The device consists of a 1-dimensional micro-LED array coupled to a sub-mm polymeric slab for evanescent excitation of fluorescent analytes present on the surface. Proof-principle detection of semiconductor nanocrystals down to 0.2 pM/cm2 is demonstrated.

ThH1.2 - TOWARDS USING LED ARRAYS FOR RELATIVE ALIGNMENT OF CUBE SATELLITE CLUSTERS

Abstract

Abstract

A structured illumination system based on microscale light-emitting diode arrays provides a low size, mass and power approach to monitor the relative angular alignment of nano-satellites operating in cluster configuration.

WA3.3 - UNDERWATER WIRELESS OPTICAL COMMUNICATIONS AT 100 MB/S USING INTEGRATED DUAL-COLOR MICRO-LEDS

Abstract

Abstract

Integrated blue-violet and blue-green micro-LED arrays, fabricated via a transfer printing method, were employed to demonstrate wavelength division multiplexing underwater data transmission at 100 Mb/s over up to 9 attenuation lengths in a 1.5 m long water tank.
