Abstract

This talk focuses on the DoD’s desire to develop and own a PNT Open System Architecture that incorporates the latest technology trends for navigating in difficult urban, indoor, and underground environments where typical Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers do not function. Photonic based sensors offer very promising capabilities, but the ability to quickly and reliably integrate these technologies in today’s closed systems in expensive and takes too long.
