Machine learning accelerates metamaterial design. We utilize ANNs to inverse design reflection spectra for an array of silicon nanopillars, achieving a six order of magnitude simulation speedup. We provide a framework to rapidly evaluate and design optical metamaterial devices beyond what is currently possible using optimization methods.
