TuF2.1 - A REVIEW OF TURBULENCE EFFECTS ON INCOHERENT IMAGING SYSTEMS
Abstract
Abstract
We review the fundamentals of how turbulence and refractivity degrade imaging system performance and discuss the tools used for characterizing these effects in the field.
TuF2.2 - Agile Science of Test and Evaluation - Innovation & Invention Dynamics
Abstract
Abstract
The April 2019 USAF Science and Technology Strategy sets objectives on transformational capabilities and research management; underscoring creativity. Strategies enhancing talent networks and relevance offer revolutionary science pathways. Discovering researchers, incorporating new teaming paradigms, and leveraging social media program examples are presented with related dynamics.TuF2.3 - STUDY OF 90-GHZ PHASED ARRAY ANTENNA SYSTEM BASED ON CHROMATIC DISPERSION EFFECT IN THE OPTICAL FIBER
Abstract
Abstract
Phased array antenna system is evaluated in the 90-GHz band using fiber-dispersion-based true time delay. Phase differences are induced by transmission of the optical fiber, without any additional equipment. Beam steering angle with a range of 5 degrees is successfully demonstrated with four horn-antenna elements.
TuF2.4 - ADVANCED SOFTWARE FOR USER INTERFACE, USER CONTROL, DATA/IMAGE INPUT, AND TEST AUTOMATION FOR INFRARED LED SCENE PROJECTORS
Abstract
Abstract
In order to adequately control, test, and analyze Infrared Scene Projectors (IRSP), a user
interface needed to be developed to maximize user efficiency. The IRSP control interface was developed
for high-performance image processing, automated testing, and data capture/analysis.
TuF2.5 - NEAR FIELD IMAGING FOR RF SCATTERING ANALYSIS
Abstract
Abstract
We present a method for computing a fully focused radiative near field image for MMW and sub-MMW scattering analysis purposes including establishing baseline comparisons with real time tactical imaging methods. These near field effects may be encountered in end-game RF seeker and fuzing situations.
TuF2.6 - “HYBRID DAC” APPROACH TO INCREASING DYNAMIC RANGE AND SIGNAL TO NOISE IN IRSP SYSTEMS.
Abstract
Abstract
We propose and show preliminary test results on a system to improve dynamic range and signal to noise ratio (SNR) in an infrared (IR) light-emitting diode (LED) display system by splitting the digital-to-analog conversion between the close-support electronics (CSE) and the read-in integrated-circuit (RIIC).
