Abstract

Abstract

Two pressing demands in our western society are illicit traffic of SNM and maintenance of our nuclear legacy. Neutrons are a tool in non-destructive testing and inspection of complex objects. We have demonstrated a laser-driven neutron source with intensities orders of magnitude above earlier attempts that lead to a large number of applications. I present mechanism, applications and recent experimental results using laser systems in the US and Europe.
