Abstract

Abstract

Two dimensional materials such as monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides (TMD) are expected to have large changes in their optical sheet conductivity by controlling their carrier densities. We demonstrate a platform for waveguide-integrated phase modulators in the near-infrared regime based on Tungsten disulphide (WS2) gating.

Abstract

Abstract

Metastable materials that lie within the miscibility gaps of their equilibrium phase diagrams, as well as the development of lattice-parameter-engineered virtual substrates, offer means to greatly expand the material platforms available for semiconductor lasers to enable higher performance and an increased span of emission wavelengths.

Abstract

Abstract

This paper will present an overview of our research on integrating optics and photonics for automated cell and disease identification using compact and field portable optical imaging based bio photonics sensors. Automated disease identification using low cost field portable sensors can have a substantial public health impact.
