Abstract

Abstract

Red-, green- and blue-light emitting InGaN/GaN micro-LED pixels are monolithically-integrated on a single chip to form color microdisplays with high scalability and yield. The green and blue pixels comprise of etched nanostructures resulting in size-dependant spectral blue-shifting of the as-grown wavelength (red).

Abstract

Abstract

Gap-free micro-sized light emitting diode arrays (µLED array) are proposed and theoretically demonstrated to reduce the cross-talk current and also to minimize the light cross talk between the µLED pixels, which finds great potentials in microdisplay panels.

ThA1.3 - MICROLED WAVEGUIDE FOR FLUORESCENCE APPLICATIONS

Abstract

Abstract

A microLED-coupled multimode slab waveguide is reported for fluorescence sensing. The device consists of a 1-dimensional micro-LED array coupled to a sub-mm polymeric slab for evanescent excitation of fluorescent analytes present on the surface. Proof-principle detection of semiconductor nanocrystals down to 0.2 pM/cm2 is demonstrated.

ThA1.4 - HIGH PERFORMANCE ULTRAVIOLET MICRO-LED ARRAYS FOR FINE-PITCH MICRO DISPLAYS

Abstract

Abstract

Highly efficient ultraviolet micro LED arrays are demonstrated. Small devices (5 microns in size) suitable for high resolution (725 ppi) can be produced with low leakage current and good emission spectra stability. A 10 by 10 array is achieved with passive-matrix driving connection.
