Abstract

The Accreditation College of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Osteopathic Principles Committee confers Osteopathic Recognition (OR) to ACGME-accredited programs that fulfill a formal application process and demonstrate substantial commitment to implementing Osteopathic Principles and Practices (OPP) in their graduate medical education. Presently, approximately ninety percent of programs accredited with OR are primary care residencies. We describe the osteopathic-integrated curriculum for the first subspecialty with OR that remains the only osteopathic allergy/immunology fellowship nationally. We aim to outline how other subspecialties may pursue OR application through development of an osteopathic learning culture.
