Abstract

In this session, members from the Campus Awareness Response and Evaluation (CARE) Team will address barriers and opportunities to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health and wellness among students in health education. The discussion will center on one institution's approach to promoting a caring culture from student orientation to graduation through the development of a diverse CARE team with community partnership. The discussion will include: 1) The 3 phase approach to development, program rollout and ongoing assessment; 2) Lessons learned in each stage and 3) CARE Team resources developed for training, simulation, process and feedback of the model which will be provided for participants to share with their home institutions and programs.
