Abstract

In this session, we review categorization, remediation, and assessment of unprofessionalism using a case study as our model approach. Professionalism was assessed according to the Osteopathic core competencies and goals. Following completion of a comprehensive remediation plan incorporating counseling, research, reflection and mentorship, professionalism was reassessed and found to be significantly improved. The session will describe the stepwise process and provide a template to customize for future cases of professionalism in need of remediation.
