Abstract

Mentorship programs at osteopathic medical schools are underrepresented in the literature. In this session we will investigate the effects of a newly implemented Student Advising and Mentorship program (SAM) in an Osteopathic medical school (NYIT-COM). Through administration of a validated survey, we aim to investigate mentorship experiences, mentee satisfaction, and outcomes among mentor-mentee pairs from the first year of a student advising and mentoring program. We are hopeful that results from this study allow similar mentorship programs to be implemented on a larger scale in other osteopathic medical schools.
